Biography of Ivo Monte

 

Ivo Letterio Monte was born in Italy.

He graduated at the Conservatory of music 'A. Corelli', in Italy, in 1987.

He plays various instruments such as the trumpet, the french horn, the flugel horn and the piano which he uses in composition and creation of new musical arrangements.

He has performed with symphonic orchestras, lyrical and musical companies, in Italy, in Europe, in America and in Australia, with international artists and in prestigious theatres.

Interested in orchestration, he widened his theoretic knowledge, studying both classic and modern composition. Furthermore, he has acquired experience in musical direction and has created unpublished works. He has directed works seeing to the musical staging and production such as the april 2003 version of Jesus Christ Superstar (under licence by A.L. Webber and T. Rice), taking the 1996 version live on stage. He made his debut in Taormina at the Palacongressi with three performances and afterwards he has made other performances in other cities until December 2005.

He has also dedicated himself to teaching: he nurtured the preparation of his pupils, stimulating their musical potential and coniugating them to the correct et transmission of the theoretical basis, and the passion for musical expression.

He has achieved the didactic principles of teaching in diverse musical disciplines at the statal Conservatories and Musical institutes officially recognized in some of the Italian cities: Catania, Palermo, Reggio Calabria, Messina, Vibo Valentia, Monopoli ( Bari ), L'Aquila, Ancona and other cities.

Moreover he is fit to teach in institutes in Spain and in France. He has taught in various schools brass, ensemble music and musical theory.

He has recorded for cinema (American company Paramount) and he has recorded for the first time the lyric operas of Nino Rota and Francesco Saverio Mercadante.

He has conducted some programs about opera and other musical styles in National Australian Network.

For his many talents, in 2008 he had a special Australian Permanent Visa for Music and Arts, from the Australian Government, with a high reference from the University of Melbourne.

Currently, he's playing and teaching in Australia.

He's writing new compositions for movies.
